Our Thirty Seventh (37th) story is about Ms. Ujjwala Shanker, who is spreadingfragrance through her product line “Holy Shrine Incenses”

Ujjwala Shanker holds a Masters’ degree in Constitutional Law and runs a school upto Class 12 for the not so privileged ones, the school is afliated by UP(Uttar Pradesh) Board. The school has about 600 children.

  1. Waste Management- recycling of owers and other particulate suspended substances like sawdust
  2. Training of Persons with disabilities- they are taught how to make hand rolled incense with a buy back guarantee.
  3. Training of school students under Skill Development to recycle their garden owers to make incense.
  4. Training of Rural Women
  5. Using Solar Power to manufacture their commercial range for the market.

Hence she tries to incorporate sustainable development goals all the way. She is also a part of FICCI Flo and Loreto Alumnae Association of which she has been a Treasurer. She is the President of Avadh Girls’ Degree College Alumnae Association. She participates actively in SVPA, an association of UP Board schools. Ms. Shanker, was awarded by the Loreto Alumnae Association for her work in the eld of education of children in 2017. She helped set up a beauty training skill development centre at Jagriti in Loreto Convent and was instrumental in getting the rst batch of the Loreto Band with the help of 11 GRRC Battalion.

Ms. Shanker, was awarded by Amar Ujala Guru Pranam Samman in 2019, the CIMSME Brand India Women In Business Award in 2022, the IDSA Women Shine Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2023, has received a FICCI Flo Internal Award in 2023 for her work on Legal Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The lady further bagged the title as “Fighter for Women’s Rights “ in 2024 at a beauty pageant organised by Nari First and was crowned by Shibani Kashyap and Beauty Fame Malaika Arora.

In 2024 she could also bag a National Level Award at Hyderabad from Incense Media and Zee Media, the “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2024”.

Her endeavour is to bring inclusivity of children of marginalised groups into mainstream education, empower and enable rural women and persons with disabilities. Her vision to inculcate sustainability as a way of life in all fields.
